Cards and celebrations

When do the British send cards?

Sending cards is a widespread custom in Britain today. There are cards for every occasion from buying a house to having a baby and, more recently, cards for getting a new job, or just saying sorry. For example, cards are sent at Christmas as a way of “keeping in touch” with past friends or relatives who live in other parts of the country.

Nowadays British traditionally send cards by post and, certainly, by e-mails.
