Mark the following statements as “T” (true) and “F” (false) correspondingly:

1. Finite forms of the verb and verbals are synonyms.

2. The non-finite forms may be non-perfect and perfect.

3. The Russian language has no non-finite forms of the verb.

4. The Russian non-final forms of the verb differ from those of English

in number.

5. The tense distinction of the non-finite forms can be only considered

relative (not absolute) because, in contrast to finite forms, they do not

show the actions they denote as referring to the present, past or future;

non-finite forms can only express the action they denote as

simultaneous or prior to that performed by the finite form.

6. Non-finite verbs are said to have a double nature because they

combine the characteristics of a verb with those of an adjective (the

participle) and a noun (the gerund and the infinitive).

7. Participle II has only one unchangeable verbal form, consequently,

it has no morphological grammatical categories.

8. Irregular verbs cannot be found as verbals.

9. All the verbals may be used either singly or in phrases.

10. A phrase based on a verbal form a syntactic unit having its

corresponding function in the sentence.
