The summer conference ''Global Foreign Policy after Events of September 11: Prospects of Asia and West'' was held at the Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economy and Prognosis (KIMEP).
Professors ,scientists, diplomats from South Korea, the USA, Spain, Kazakhstan took part in the work of the conference. Main attention of the public was devoted to problems of terrorism. The next important theme was the Islam problem in the interaction of the West and East. All participants came to the conclusion that Islam religion must not be identified with terrorism.
Struggle against terrorism cannot successfully conducted by one country only.
Recently the US Defense Secretary paid a visit to Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.
One of the main moments of the cost was a long conversation of the Defence Ministers of the United States and Kazakhstan with Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev's participation. The Defence Minister of Kazakhstan noted that just after September 11 tragic events in New York and Washington the Republic of Kazakhstan declared its support to the USA struggle against terrorism.
