On the Sunday before Christmas many churches have aspecial service where special songs are sung. Sometimes singers can be heard on the streets as they collect money for poorpeople. People thinkofCharlesDickens' story "Christmas Carol". Most families decorate their houses with coloured paper. They usually have a Christmas tree in the corner ofthe hall with coloured lights and decorations. There are a lot ofteditionsconnected with Christmas. But the most important one is giving presents. Family members wrap their presents and leave them near the Christmas tree. Children leave a long sock at the end of their bed on Christmas Eve, 24th December. They think that Father Christmas wil come during the night and bring them small presents, fruit and nuts. They are usually not disappointed on Christmas Day the family has a big dinner with Christmas pudding. In the afternoon everybody watches the Queen's speech on elevision. The children eat the Christmas cake or a special pie. The 26th ofDecember is also a public holiday called Boxing Day. This is the time to visit friends and relatives or watch football. (10 вопросов)
